Eagles create cap space by opening holes

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles have made moves to give themselves about $33 million in space under the 2015 NFL salary cap. That’s a good thing, because the Eagles have also put themselves in position to fill a lot of holes in free agency. The release of cornerback Cary Williams on Tuesday, along with the departures of guard Todd Herremans and tight end James Casey last week, subtracted $13.3 million from the Eagles’ 2015 salary cap.
