Jay Gruden: 'RG 3 has to do a good job'

PHOENIX -- The announcement was a bit surprising given Redskins coach Jay Gruden’s stated desire for an open competition. But when he named Robert Griffin III the starting quarterback entering the 2015 season, he said part of the decision stemmed from a desire to build confidence. Gruden announced Griffin the starter during the scouting combine. They still have Kirk Cousins and re-signed Colt McCoy, giving the Redskins the same quarterbacks for a second consecutive season.
