Memo to Green Bay: Enough is Enough

How can you treat Brett Favre like this? Not that I can completely blame Green Bay for becoming a little frustrated with the ever indecisive Favre but the way they have handled it so far is laughable. Boy if you are Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson (who now ranks up their with former Bulls GM Jerry Krause for two of the more arrogant front office guys ever) you better pray that you make the playoffs this year or the heat will be on.

Some Thompson supporters compare this with Montana and Young. Sorry not even close because if Favre had no retired he’d be the starter so this is not a proven player pushing out a superstar vet this is a GM and Head Coach saying we’re in charge and even though you led us to the NFC Title you’re out of here.

Since it seems impossible to repair the relationship (even with 20 million bucks to stay retired) of this franchise with it’s best player in the past 40 years the only sensible thing is to trade him. The big issue seems is the Packers want a king’s ransom for a guy that they don’t want to even give a chance to compete for the job. That’s a disgrace!!!! How about showing some gratitude and respect for the man that brought your franchise back and trade him NOW to whatever team he can work out details with. Since Chicago does not seem smart enough to realize they need Favre I would like a trade to Minnesota, Detroit or Baltimore makes the most sense.

Here’s hoping wherever Brett lands he has a duplicate season like last year and that the Packers miss the playoffs. Karma has an amazing way of sometimes fixing all of the wrongs in sports.
