Interview with Duane Brooks, WR, Stephen F. Austin
What is your official height, weight and recent forty time?
I am 5’ 11”, 195 pounds and have run a 4.46 forty yard dash.
What do you consider to be your biggest strength?
Catching the ball. I caught 68 passes as a junior despite missing games. I have a lot of knowledge of the game and a knack for finding holes in the defense.
If a scout asked what tape you would give him to see you at your best what would you show him?
I would ask him to take a look at my game against McNeese State in 2009.
Who is the toughest opponent or teammate that you have ever faced? How did you fare?
Teams rolled a lot of corners my way so I played against quite a few good players. There were two guys that I lined up in practice against. One of them was Andre Banks a 6’3”, 205 pound cornerback and Josh Hughey another cornerback.
Which coach had the biggest impact on your playing career up to this point?
I have had a handful of coaches that I played with that helped me out in my career. I got to play with my dad which was great. Quarterbacks coach Brad Bass was great as was David Beatty who, after many felt that I was too small to play football, gave me a chance. My head coach at Stephen F. Austin is another example of one of the great coaches that I have had.
