Lucas Reed of New Mexico Bethpage, N.Y. (November 10, 2010) - Lucas Reed of New Mexico was named John Mackey Tight End of the Week by the Nassau County Sports Commission. The Mountain West conference sophomore recorded seven receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns as New Mexico won its first game of the 2010 season over Wyoming, 34-31. Reed's touchdowns were both meaningful in a game where he set a new career high in receptions and matched his career highs in both yardage and touchdown receptions.Honorable mentions considered for this week's Mackey Tight End of the Week include Cooper Helfet of Duke and Lee Smith of Marshall. The 2010 recipient of "The Mackey" will be announced at the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show December 9, 2010 on ESPN.
