Patriots type players

The Patriots seem to love conversions from DE in college to OLB in the pros. The players who fit the bill are usually over 6'3", 250 lbs with solid 3 cone times, ability to set the edge and shed blockers. Here is a list for the 3-4 olb in no particular order.

Shea McLellin Boise State
Audie Cole NC State
Jerrell Harris Alabama
Delano Johnson Bowie State
Ryan Davis Bethuene Cookman
Whitney Mercilus Illinois
Malik Jackson Tennessee
Vinny Curry Marshall
Chandler Jones Syracuse
Kentrell Lockett Mississippi
Ben Martin Tennessee

The Patriots 3-4 defense takes a special person to play the 5 technique (de). Richard Seymour, Ty Warren and Jarvis Green were always solid examples of playing defensive end in the patriots system. You must be able to get into combat, slide, disengage and make the play. Here are some prospects in no particular order.

Derek Wolfe Cincinnati
Tony Jarod-Eddie Texas A&M
Ethan Johnson Notre Dame
Ryan Van Bergen Michigan
Taylor Thompson SMU
Michael Brockers LSU
Dominique Hamilton Missouri
Billy Winn Boise State
Kheeston Randall Texas
Jr Sweezy NC State
