Let Carson Palmer Go

Rumor has it that Carson Palmer is reluctant to take a pay cut. Why should he? He restructured in a big way to get the Raiders under the cap last year. Now they ask for a pay cut? C'mon man
Really, a 2.5 tier QB would get to take a paycut to play for a 4-12 team in full rebuild. Where does he sign. Sure, he may not command top dollar on the free market, but he doesn't need to. Reports have Carson having like 80 million in the bank.

So what's left?

I think Oakland cuts Carson loose. The roll the dice with Pryor and Vince Young (ewwww). Perhaps they grab Geno Smith (no thanks) Either way, the dead money is big but doable.

In my opinion, a team like Arizona would pay for Palmer. Another way to go is super high quality backup for a team that is a contender. Go to NE and play behind Brady, and look for a ring.

A few weeks ago, I recommended keeping Palmer and retooling for progress. Now, maybe finish the painful rebuild, get some new fellas in there and make it happen. As a fan, I'll take the year off from rooting and come back fresh for the combine next year. (nah)
