Is the NFC West the Center of the NFL Universe?

Just 24 hours before the start of free agency, the NFC west already made a huge impact.  With the 49ers making the Superbowl, and the Seahawks a last second field goal from the NFC championship, an improved Rams team, the NFC worst may have become the best division in football. Now add in two big deals, the teams just got better.

The 49ers acquired Anquan Boldin for a 6th round draft pick, and the Seahawks received Percy Harvin for a first and seventh round pick this year, and conditional mid round pick next year.  Talk about the good getting better.

I'm not going to discuss which move is better, personally it is the Harvin deal, but rather explained what both deals mean to the teams.  The 49ers got a physical receiver to help beat press coverage, and to add with Crabtree, Vernon Davis, and Frank Gore, that is pretty good collection of offensive talent for Colin Kapernick.  The 49ers needed a physical receiver who ran great routes, and had great hands.  Enter Boldin, who only cost a 6th rounder, and has Superbowl experience to pass on to his teammates.

For Seattle, hello Percy Harvin.  An electric receiver, runner, and kick/punt returner.  He is reunited with Darren Bevill, his OC in  Minnesota, a team with cap space, and a QB who buys time and delivers the ball down field.  At 24 years old, this could be a long time signing.  With Marshawn Lynch, Zach Miller, Tate, and Sidney Rice, might be the best offensive talent in the league.  Both teams needed a receiver, both teams got exactly  what they needed.

Both teams dislike each other, both teams make deals to beat the other.  This rivalry is starting to take off, an the rest of the NFL is starting to take notice.
