This seemed inevitable for months now, from the moment Reggie Bush injured his ankle during the fifth week of the season and Theo Riddick darted through the Minnesota defense on the opening drive the following week. Even when the Lions drafted Riddick in the sixth round of the 2013 draft, his skills were similar enough to Bush – then the Lions’ top offseason free-agent acquisition – that it seemed like the team signed their present and drafted their future, all in the same two-month span.
