It
looks like someone else has caught on to what I've been saying regarding the NFL needing to develop a true minor league
system. Seeing an article like this gives me hope that someday the NFL power
brokers will see the huge untapped market available and create a developmental
league in the United States and Canada and will leave the foreign markets to
the novelty preseason games and other one game during the regular season type events.
Let's be honest just as in this country we will never care about soccer
the way we care about football the same can be said about Europe. No
matter how hard the NFL tries it will never become anywhere close in popularity
as soccer is in Europe but those of us in smaller cities in the United States
and Canada would love to go see some AAA football with our families. Anyone being honest realizes no sport
approaches the popularity of football in North America and amazingly it still
has room to grow as you can guarantee more and more pro days being televised on
ESPN, NFL Network and other channels in the coming years. Football is king and if they want they can
put a few other sports near the brink of going out of business.
