Is it warm or is it just me
As we are at the midseason mark, I figured it was time to take a look at which coaches might need to either start recording a few more wins or start working on that resume for their new employer. At the eight week mark there were seventeen teams below 500, so obviously not all of those teams will change coaches.
NFC Teams (currently with losing records)
Current Head Coach: Andy Reid
Likelihood of return: Unless a serious playoff run happens, all signs point to a new man in charge in Philadelphia next year. I am betting Andy Reid is coaching his final season with the "Birds." He'll take a season off to spend with his family before fielding offers for his next job.
Possible Replacement: Call me crazy but doesn't Jon Gruden and his "Chucky" persona and the City of Brotherly Love seem like the perfect marriage.
Dallas Cowboys:
Current Head Coach: Jason Garrett
Likelihood of return: A lot better than the Dallas media gives it. Garrett is in only his second full season and first after a training camp. Cowboys still have major holes to fill, and Jerry is likely to let Jason continue to fill them instead of pulling the plug already. Unless the season completely tanks, I would say 80/20 that Garrett is back for another year.
Possible Replacement: Who would really want to work for Jerry? Lot of pluses being the head coach of the Cowboys, but Jerry's presence outweighs a lot of them. If he was to make a change, a likely promotion for Rob Ryan might be in the cards, or former Cowboys assistant and current LSU HC, Les Miles, might be tempted.
